Our approach

By default, Velocity uses only strictly necessary and functional cookies and similar browser storage — the categories that are exempt from prior consent under § 25(2) TDDDG. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not load remote fonts. The one optional category is analytics: Google Analytics runs on our public pages only after you agree through the consent banner, as § 25(1) TDDDG requires. If you decline, it never loads.

Your sign-in session is held in your browser's local storage rather than a tracking cookie.

Categories we use

Essential

Needed for Velocity to work: keeping you signed in, protecting your session, and preventing abuse. These cannot be switched off.

Examples: Sign-in session storage, security and rate-limiting

Duration: Session to 30 days

Functional

Store only choices you make yourself, like your theme, so the interface behaves the way you left it. The law exempts these from consent because you asked for them.

Examples: Theme preference, layout preference

Duration: Up to 1 year

Analytics (only with your consent)

Google Analytics counts visits to our public pages and shows us which pages people read. It never loads before you agree, and you can turn it off again at any time.

Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*)

Duration: Up to 2 years

Third parties

We do not place advertising cookies. If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics sets the cookies listed above; who Google is, what it processes, and where is described in our Privacy Policy. During active sessions, strictly necessary connection data may be used to deliver video and platform content. If you restream to a third-party platform, that platform's own cookies and policies apply.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and most mobile devices offer settings to manage cookies and site data. Please note that disabling strictly necessary storage may stop parts of the platform from working, including staying signed in.
